Believe it or not, I am not actually posting this film because of the handsome staring man. Strangely enough it’s actually the backdrop and the amazing hotel featured towards the end of the film that excites me more than the lead male… sorry Jude! The majority of the new Dior Homme Sport advert is filmed on the stunning French Riviera with Jude driving along the stunning coastal roads, ending with a sequence at my fetish venue, the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc with its majestic cream facade and beautiful shoreline. If this advert doesn’t make you want to get married on the French Riviera or at least visit, I don’t know what will! P.s. aren’t the car and boat amazing!

Situated in Vence, near the charming medieval village of Saint Paul de Vence, the Château Saint Martin & Spa is part of the Oetker Collection, the same hotel group as the magnificent Hotel du-Cap-Eden-Roc, and abides by the same principles of understated luxury and excellence in service. The hotel is also a member of the highly respected Relais & Chateaux international hotel guide.
While I was working at event management company JG Events, I was involved with the organisation of a winter wedding at the Château Saint Martin & Spa back in December 2008 for a lovely young Russian couple who hired the hotel for exclusive use over a long weekend. The venue was absolutely perfect for a festive season wedding with its cosy log fires and warm comfortable furnishings.
The Chateau Saint Martin is in fact equally as fabulous at any time of the year, offering traditional Provencal architecture, amazing views over the French Riviera coast, luscious gardens for wedding ceremonies, superb terraces for outside dining as well as versatile indoor function spaces. The Château Saint Martin & Spa even has its very own chapel , an idyllic place for an intimate wedding blessing .
Offering a total of 51 rooms, the Chateau Saint Martin has 39 junior suites and 6 private villas located in the hotel’s grounds .
If great food and wine is high on your list of priorities, then you will definitely not be disappointed with the Château Saint Martin. Run by head chef Yannick Franque, protégé of the celebrated chef Alain Ducasse, the Château Saint Martin’s gastronomic restaurant has been awarded 2 Michelin Stars. The hotel’s head Sommelier Jean-Christophe Rault always picks out the perfect wines for each menu and offers wine tasting in the hotel’s attractive Cave à Vine.
The Château Saint Martin is also a fantastic wedding venue for couples who would like to experience the ultimate in relaxation and wellbeing in calm surroundings. The hotel’s La Prairie Spa offers revolutionary health and beauty treatments in a truly luxurious setting. The Chateau Saint Martin’s heated outdoor swimming pool is set amongst olive groves and beautiful Provencal gardens.
The Château Saint Martin & Spa and its 51 rooms and suites can only be hired for exclusive use for weddings at certain times of the year; from the beginning of February to the end of May and again from the end of September to mid November. This is because the hotel’s regular individual clientele is privileged during the high season months of June to August and the venue closes annually from November/December to January/February. Rates are charged on a per day basis, with a minimum stay policy of 2 nights. If you do not wish to hire the entire hotel for your wedding, it is possible to organise a dinner either in the Rôtisserie; a large dining room with a capacity of 110 people seated or the Salle Matisse; a private salon with its own terrace perfect for small groups of up to 45 people seated. Hiring the venue for exclusive use is the only solution if you would like to have a dance party after dinner with either a DJ or live music, so not as to disturb the other guests staying in the hotel.
If you would like to receive more information and rates for wedding at the Château Saint Martin & Spa, you can email Kerry at My Riviera Wedding or leave a comment below. If you prefer to contact the venue directly, you can get in touch with Sales Manager Lucy Hervé on my behalf by email on email@example.com or by telephone on +33 (0) 4 93 58 40 75. The Château de la Chèvre d’Or is in my opinion one of the finest venues for intimate, romantic weddings on the French Riviera. This wonderful hotel located in the Medieval hilltop fortress town of Eze, with its 2 Michelin star gourmet restaurant, has brilliant cuisine, breathtaking sea views, bags of charm and character, great service (member of the Relais et Châteaux group and has a 4 star rating), is private and discrete and not extraordinarily overpriced. In short, its positioning in the CondéNast Traveller 2010 Gold List of hotels is most definitely deserved. If you are planning a small wedding for between 15 and 65 people and are looking for a unique venue from which you can enjoy the Cote d’Azur coast line, then the Château de la Chèvre d’Or could well be the perfect wedding venue for you.
The Château de la Chèvre d’Or has magnificent gardens in which, weather depending, wedding ceremonies can take place. Alternatively, one of the venue’s terraces known as the Café du Jardin can also be used (from 6.30pm only). For ceremonies in the gardens, a maximum of 65 can be seated and for ceremonies on the Café du Jardin terrace the maximum seated capacity is 30. The exclusive use fee for wedding ceremonies at the Château de la Chèvre d’Or varies according to the number of guests, ranging from 500 Euros for groups of up to 10 people and 1,700 Euros for up to 100 people (according to 2010 rates).
For drinks receptions and dinners, the venue offers full privatisation of the Eden Restaurant and the Eden Terrace which can hold a maximum of 65 people seated. The exclusive use fee for the Eden restaurant & terrace equates to: 65 minus the actual number of guests, times 300 Euros. Therefore, for groups of 65, no exclusive use fee applies and for groups of 30 for example, the exclusive use fee would be (65-30) x 300= 10,500 Euros (according to 2010 rates). On the menu are a large range of delicious French & European dishes combined with high-end Asian fusion cooking. Menus can be created according to your requirements and open bar and drinks packages are available.
If you would like to have live music or a dance party after dinner, this takes place in the lounge area of the Eden Terrace for 50 people maximum under the conditions that the 6 rooms located directly under the Eden restaurant & terrace are booked by the wedding party (3 nights minimum booking required if the event is on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, 2 nights minimum for weddings on week days).
The Château de la Chèvre d’Or has a total of 30 rooms and 6 suites, all tastefully decorated, ranging from 290 Euros per night for a standard room (according to 2010 high season rates).

The Château de Berne is a wine producing estate and boutique hotel situated on a private domain amongst 600 hectares of vineyards. The venue is located in the village of Lorgues, at 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Nice airport and 1.5 hours from Marseille airport in the magnificently authentic Provence countryside.
The venue has 3 principal function spaces as detailed below:
The Jardin du Jasmin offers a large outdoor terraced area covered by an attractive marquee type structure which opens out onto the Château’s vineyards. This 260 metre squared event space can seat a maximum of 200 people in a natural, relaxed environment and is perfect for brunches, seated dinners and cocktail receptions.
The Salle de Bacchus is a 230 metre squared indoor function room with a seated capacity of 160 people allowing for a dance floor. This attractive space with its arches and white draping is ideally used for seated dinners, discos and live music.
The Scène sur l’eau, an amphitheatre with a 115 metre squared floating circular platform, offers an original outside space for wedding ceremonies and also doubles up as a heli pad for those who wish to arrive in style. The platform is large enough for approximately 70 to 80 chairs and tent structures can be constructed to provide shade for guests in the summer months.
The Château de Berne can provide catering for groups of 80 people and upwards and the venue’s chef offers a fabulously creative cuisine. The venue also offers a selection of the best wines produced on site as well as full open bar packages and a fabulous range of made to order wedding cakes. Food and Beverage provided by the Château de Berne is extremely reasonably priced with set menus ranging from 60 euros per head. If you prefer to use an outside caterer, the venue has no problem with this at all and is happy to propose a selection of local companies.
For your accommodation needs, the Château de Berne sleeps 38 people and has 19 charming bedrooms and suites which can be booked for your wedding at a 20% discount. A special exclusive use rate is also available if you wish to rent the entire hotel (2 nights minimum in low and mid season and 3 nights in high season).
In terms of pricing, the Château de Berne, as with the other venues located in Provence that I feature on My Riviera Wedding, is considerably more reasonable than other similar venues on the Cote d’Azur. The exclusive use fee for weddings on a Saturday ranges from 2100 Euros in low season to 3100 Euros in high season (if an outside caterer is used, rates increase by approximately 50%, great discounts are available for week days). Competitive total wedding planning packages are also offered including everything you need for a truly memorable wedding.

The Abbaye Hotel and its restaurant, le 541, is a traditional yet trendy wedding venue located in the village of La Colle Sur Loup at a little over 15 minutes drive from Nice airport and 30 minutes from Cannes. Although La Colle Sur Loup does not have the same charm or impressive views as nearby Saint Paul de Vence, the Abbaye itself is packed full of character and provides a wonderful setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
The Abbaye’s décor has been designed with the utmost care. The combination of the old-style exposed stonework and fun, contemporary furnishings is absolutely ravishing.
The venue can be booked for weddings year round and accepts groups of between 50 and 130 people. During the high season (15 May to 15 September), the Abbaye stipulates that for weddings held on a Saturday, group sizes be a minimum of 80 adults and 50 adults for all other days of the week. During the low season months, the minimum group size can be negotiated.
The Abbaye has a beautiful chapel which can hold up to a maximum of 70 people standing. Alternatively for larger groups, ceremonies can be held in the venue’s gardens (please note that for ceremonies in the garden, chairs for your guests must be sourced from an outside supplier at an additional cost). The gardens can also be used for a pre dinner drinks reception.
Depending on the weather conditions, either the Abbaye’s courtyard or the interior restaurant space can be used for seated dinners. All discos take place inside the main building of the Abbaye and music is permitted until 02.00.
The Abbaye offers a wedding package priced at 95 Euros per person in low season and 120 Euros per person in high season which includes the exclusive use of the entire venue from 17.00 to 03.00, canapés, starter, main dish, cheese and dessert or wedding cake, 1/2 a bottle of wine and 1/2 a bottle of mineral water per person, coffee and petit fours. Champagne and other drinks to accompany the canapés for the aperitif are charged at an additional cost. The venue can also provide an open bar which is chargeable on a per bottle basis according to consumption.
The venue has a total of 15 rooms and suites that are all tastefully decorated using a modern black, white, cream and taupe colour scheme. A suite for the Bride & Groom on the night of the wedding is included in all wedding packages. If you would like to rent out all of the rooms in the hotel for your wedding, a special 3 day, exclusive use accommodation package is available. The Cap Estel is what is known in French as a ‘hôtel particulier’; a hotel with an extremely personal, home from home type feel. The Cap Estel is certainly personal but does not, very unfortunately, look or feel like my home in any which way or form (think the difference between a Ferrari sports car and my bright red Renault Clio). This sublime 5 star venue is located on its own mini peninsula in Eze-sur-Mer and offers the ultimate in luxurious privacy.
The Cap Estel is available for weddings but at the condition that the entire venue be hired for exclusive use. Weddings are not permitted during the high season (mid may to the end of September) and a minimum rental period of 3 nights in the low season and 5 nights in the high season applies. If you are wondering how much renting the entire hotel with its 14 suits and 4 bedrooms, 2 hectares of grounds, spa and swimming pool costs, then I can safely say considerably more than even 5 red Renault Clios!

The Belles Rives began life as a private villa in the 1920s with prominent personalities such as Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald amongst the property’s famous visitors. Situated in an enviable location right on the sea-shore of the exclusive Cap d’Antibes close to Juan-les-Pins, today, the Belles Rives is a 42 bedroom family run hotel and a fabulous venue for weddings on the French Riviera.
Wedding cocktail receptions and dinners at the Belles Rives hotel take place directly by the sea on a manmade beach-like terraced area. The beach terrace has a maximum capacity of 300 people but is ideal for groups of between 50 and 150 people. The beach terrace also has a tent to offer protection in case of rain which has a seated capacity of 70 people with a dance floor area and 100 without a dance floor.
The Belles Rives offers various wedding ‘packages’ ranging from 140 Euros per person depending on the type of menu that you decide to go for. All packages include Champagne and canapés, main dishes, a cheese course, wedding cake, wine, mineral water and coffee. The per head price includes chairs, tables and table decoration (candles, flowers, menu holders) as well as one nights accommodation for the Bride and Groom on their wedding night. More à la carte tailor-made proposals are also available.
For wedding ceremonies at the Belle Rives, either the same beach terrace or the Terrasse de la Passagère with a capacity of 140 people seated can be used. An additional fee applies for the exclusive use of the Terrasse de la Passagère. Timings for the start of ceremonies at the Belles Rives in either space depends on the season.
Rates and conditions for weddings at the Belles Rives change slightly depending on the time of year. For example during high season (15 June to 15 September) the time limit for music is midnight as opposed to 02.00 during the mid season.
